Schepeler & Kahl (“S&K”) was founded in 1824 in Germany, and today has evolved into real estate investment and advisory firm with offices in Miami and Palm Beach.
S&K has remained a family owned business, originally controlled by its principal, Hans-Josef Vogler. Mr. Vogler took control of S&K at a young age and grew the company into a leading food wholesale institution in Germany. S&K employed more than 850 people and had revenue in excess of $1 billion per year. In 1986, Mr. Vogler sold the wholesale operation to one of the largest food distributors in Europe.
Thereafter, Mr. Vogler founded S&K Worldwide Realty, LLC to focus exclusively on real estate investing. In 2018, Mr. Vogler transferred control of S&K to Scott Squires and Michael Katz, long-standing advisers to Mr. Vogler.
S&K, on behalf of itself, its principals and clients, has been investing in United States real estate for more than 30 years. S&K has invested more than $2 billion in the State of Florida, including the acquisition, development, ownership, and management of over 2.2 million square feet of medical, industrial, commercial and residential real estate, and 5,000 acres of land.
Recognizing a shifting landscape of the real estate industry in Florida after the Great Recession, S&K narrowed its primary focus to loan advisory services with a goal of capital preservation while providing risk-adjusted returns to its clients in excess of the market. Over the past five years, S&K has deployed and managed over $500 million in South Florida in the form of acquisition loans, first mortgage construction loans and mezzanine construction loans on behalf of its clients. S&K has provided loan advisory services on properties with a projected aggregate value upon completion in excess of $2 billion, including some of South Florida's most notable projects.
The managers of S&K, along with its team of long-standing consultants, possess extensive professional experience in the fields of commercial acquisitions, development, construction, leasing, management, brokerage, and financing, allowing S&K to navigate any stage of a real estate project.
